Woodsure Accredited Heat Logs
Wood pellets, in the EU at least, are manufactured to recognised standards (ENplus) enabling them to be burnt in boilers with very exacting tolerances. The same is not true of the range of heat logs available commercially which are sold as a green alternative fuel for stoves and open fires. As the wood waste material used in their manufacture becomes a valuable commodity in its own right, producers are seemingly beginning to seek out cheaper alternatives/mixes of base materials. Add to that the wide differences in manufacturing techniques and the result is a confusing array of products differing widely in performance.
In response to that and to aid consumers in making an informed decision, HETAS, the solid fuel advisory service, are offering producers the opportunity to apply for accreditation under their “woodsure” scheme. Those products carrying the “woodsure” symbol, and there are very few of them, are of guaranteed quality and consistent performance. Consumers can have confidence that their fuel is manufactured with the minimum of green house gas emissions and that its performance in terms of heat output and length of burn is beyond doubt. Woodsure Accredited Heat Logs – your guarantee of quality and fuel efficiency.
All of our heat log products carry the “woodsure” symbol and we have no hesitation in recommending them.
